With the holidays here, Whitemarsh Police have seen a sudden increase in thefts from vehicles throughout the Township.
Thieves are coming into town overnight and walking through neighborhoods trying car doors. If your car door is found unlocked, the thieves will enter and take whatever they can. If your car door is locked, but you have left something valuable in plain sight, the thieves will break your window to gain access. These "valuables" include wrapped gifts left in plain view.
Be advised that these thieves don't care if you have lights on or if you have cameras, they are brazen. Police ask that all residents lock their vehicles and homes. Please do not leave valuables or things that may be perceived as valuable, like wrapped gifts, in your vehicle. If you must leave valuables in your vehicle, please hide them from sight.
Please have a safe and theft-free Holiday Season.
