The Township’s Open Space Committee is constantly searching for opportunities to preserve and increase open space in Whitemarsh. The obvious candidates are large properties but additional small open space areas would further enhance the quality of life in our community.
Toward that end, we would like to encourage participation by residents of the Township. If you see properties that are vacant, rundown or otherwise have potential to be left as, or converted to, open space for public use and preservation, please let us know by emailing Parks and Recreation Director Tom Blomstrom. In the subject line of the email, please include "Open Space Suggestion."
The Open Space Committee will review all suggestions, determine those that meet the proper criteria, prioritize them and develop strategies to determine suitability for acquisition as open space.
